  10. <p>The base was originally established as Bruja Point Military Reservation in 1928. Air Forces Panama was the USAF representative for operations throughout Latin America, but was inactivated during the early 1990s. The 61st MAG was host unit under the 12th Air Force, Tactical Air Command. The base hosted Coronet Cove deployments of ANG fighter and attack aircraft for two-week deployments from the USA, and Volant Oak Reserve C-130 rotations for airlift duties in the region. The latter ceased when the host unit received its own airlift fleet. The 24th Wing replaced the 61st MAG. The C-27A is assigned to Howard AFB exclusively.
